All Hoods have a small kitchen corner with at least a microwave. From the Comfyhood category upwards, all rooms also feature a 2-zone induction hob and sink in the kitchen area. If you require
a dishwasher, we recommend a Classyhood. Dishwashers are also only available in the Comfyhood+ in the case of a non-binding request – thank you for your understanding!

All our Hoods are provided with bedding, towels and all other necessary textiles needed for day to day sleeping, living and cooking. We want to do our part to protect the environment and have therefore adjusted our cleaning and linen change rhythm.

During your time with us you receive a full cleaning on the eight day of your stay - an apartment cleaning & linen change included.

You like it spick-and-span more often? For € 25 you can book an additional service with a day's notice at the reception.

We want to do our part to protect the environment and have therefore no air-conditioning system in place.

We understand that everyone today requires wifi and without it nothing is possible! Superfast wifi is therefore available throughout the entire hotel including the furthest corners! Free of charge, of course.
We do, however, also recommend that you put down your smartphone now and again to take in and enjoy the neighbourhood and Hamburg. We have put together a few ideas for things to do in our events calendar: www.hood-house.de/Veranstalungskalender

Yes, of course, although only if he is well-behaved! We have 5 special dog rooms on the ground floor for guests with animal companions. These are very practical as they also offer direct access without having to go through the lobby or lift. Please keep dogs on leads in the public areas and around the hotel and clean up after them as there is otherwise a fine of €20 for this in Hamburg.

Also, dog owners are responsible for any damage caused in the hotel or disturbance of the peace although we are sure that this does not apply to you and your four-legged friends! The categories for the doggy are limited to the Cozyhood+, Comfyhood and Comfyhood+. The charge for dogs is €20 per day (for short stays) and €10 per day for long stays. You don’t want to leave your children with Grandma for the weekend and would like them to travel with you? No problem! Cots are available free of charge. Please note that there is only room for cots in the Comfyhood category upwards. If your child is too big for a cot, children up to and including the age of 2 years can stay free of charge if they sleep in the parents’ bed. Are your kids older and need their own bed? Our Spacehood offers a super comfy 1.80 m sofa bed with room for 2 kids. Charge for kids 3 - 11 years : €20/night; for older kids we charge €40/night.

Are there three of you in your group and one of you doesn’t want to be on their own in a room? Then you can also book a room for three – for example the Spacehood provides a super comfy 1.80 m sofa bed which offers room for up to 2 further people. Charge for adults: €40 / night extra.

No! Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the hotel. If you unable to keep to this small but very important rule we will, unfortunately, have to charge you a €150 cleaning charge.

Smoker’s tip: book the Primehood and smoking is permitted on your own, private rooftop terrace.

There is a safe in all rooms. If you have an item which doesn’t fit in the safe, please contact our helpful reception team. We also have large lockers with room for almost anything.

If you would like really good, healthy cuisine, owner Ravneet Kaur Muhar will impress you with her authentic Indian street food in our in-house “Svaadish” restaurant with a modern urban atmosphere. Ravneet wanted to bring her childhood memories of the streetfood of India’s bustling side streets to life and serves typical Indian dishes. SVAAdish is Hindi and means “delicious” and this is what everything is about in this restaurant: mouth-watering Indian specialities which unite tradition and innovations. The menu features Indian classics such as curry and biryani as well as many further street food highlights from India’s various regions. In the lounge area, guests can peruse the cocktail card and sample many Indian inspired creations! Guten Appetit!

If you aren’t feeling particularly sociable or have so much work that you don’t have time for a big meal or forgot to buy the things needed for breakfast … we got you! Our marketplace offers everything you need for a snack, coffee and drinks as well as even a full dinner – something delicious and fast!

Or are you looking for a souvenir from Hamburg? Or perhaps feeling a little bored and want something creative? Take a look through our Marketplace which sells everything you need – toothpaste, soup, marmalade, deodorant, alcohol, gummy bears and chocolate. Well worth a visit!

Our laundry room has WeWash washing machines and dryers. Each wash costs €3 and the dryer costs €2.50. Please note that machines are only payable by app on your smartphone. The app also shows whether a machine/dryer is available and when your cycle has finished. Iron and ironing board also available.

Is there somewhere lockable where I can store my suitcase? You only need half your things in your room or need somewhere to store your luggage for a couple of hours after checking out? Our luggage room in the cellar offers lockers for you to store your things.

If you want to leave your car here while you explore Hamburg on foot or by public transport, we offer 27 parking spaces in the nearby underground garage in the Dorotheenstraße. There are also 10 spaces directly by the building. Charges for parking in our underground garage are: €20/night and €295/month. Charges for parking directly by the building are: €32/night and €460/month. We are, unfortunately, unable to reserve parking spaces in advance – thank you for your understanding! If no spaces are available, our helpful reception team will be able to offer alternatives.

If you would like a parking space, please drive onto our hotel entrance and we can explain where to park.

You can cancel our normal daily rates free of charge – up to 3 pm on the day before you are due to arrive. Cancellations made later or non-arrival will be charged at 90% of the booking price for the first night. Cancellations must be made in writing (e-mail).

Please note that special cancellation terms may apply at busy times / special events (exhibitions, events in Hamburg etc). We will inform you of any special terms in advance.
Groups of more than 9 people are also subject to other cancellation terms. Further cancellation terms which may apply for your stay.

Payment is to be made upon arrival at the latest. For further information see your booking confirmation.

Or will I have to pay extras when I arrive?

All charges include VAT and in addition to that the culture and tourism tax (KTT) applies. The Culture and Tourism Tax also applies to business travellers in Hamburg from 1st January 2023.

If you do not own a credit card you can reserve by telephone (does not apply to all room categories, rates or dates and only if you live in Germany). You can also pay by instant transfer.

At Hood House you can enjoy a lie-in, check-out is until 11 am. Check-in from 3.00 pm

If you would like to check out later, simply contact our team – this is usually not a problem depending on availability and for a small extra charge.

During your stay, the digital guest folder provides you with important information on-site, such as how to operate technical devices in your apartment, what to find in the immediate surroundings including gastronomic offer and the most important contact information. Your access to this information will be sent to you by email and your trip ends with a digital check-out via your smartphone. You can view your invoices digitally, pay for additional services and leave us your feedback - all conveniently and easily with just a few clicks.

We love dogs & all kinds of pets, but unfortunately they are not allowed in the Hood House in Kassel and in your apartment.

During a longer stay, you might have to wash the things you've brought with you, maybe iron the odd shirt or occasionally have to use more towels or toilet rolls. We got you! You'll find our laundry room on the 5th floor. Here you can wash your clothes and easily pay for each wash cycle with one click via the app from our provider WeWash. If you need more consumables such as hand towels and toilet paper, then the Laundry Room is the right place for you.

Access by car - Parking

We would like to point out that the Hood House does not provide its own parking spaces. However, we recommend using the surrounding public parking garages for your vehicle, which are located in the immediate vicinity.

Use public transport for the journey

Train station:

If you are traveling by train, we recommend that you get off at Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe station. From Kassel-Wilhelmhöhe station you can take the streetcar to Königsplatz.

Streetcar: The following streetcar lines stop at Königsplatz: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Lines 1, 3 and 4 come from Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe station.

We are a completely digital serviced apartment provider, so you won't find anyone on site when you arrive. You can arrive around the clock. Please note that when planning your stay. You will receive all information on arrival in good time by e-mail. What does that mean for in detail? The check-in is very easy in advance via your smartphone. The general check-out times are 7 - 11 am and therefore your apartment is available to you until 11 am on the day of departure. Please note, that your apartment key loses its validity at 11 am and you will not be able to access your apartment again. If you need to get back into your apartment after this time, please contact our partner hotel "Renthof Kassel" at Renthof 3, 34117 Kassel.

Are you looking for the main entrance to the Hood House at Königsplatz and are you are surprised that you can't find it there? We are too! Due to the structure of the building, the main entrance is located at the side at Poststraße 1. As soon as you arrive at Königsplatz, follow the signs for Galeria Kassel and head straight for Poststraße and our entrance. You can open the door very smartly via smartphone after your successful online check-in.

Not checked in yet? No problemo! After your booking, you will receive the access code for the main entrance by e-mail, which you must enter at the door to get into the building

Welcome to the 50s: the design of all apartments impresses with features such as brass-colored bathroom fittings and handles, an oak herringbone wooden floor, furniture by May Design and high-quality built-in furniture from a regional joinery. The living experience is complemented by the cushion highlights from LPJ Studios. A microwave, a stove with extractor fan, a large fridge with freezer compartment and crockery are also included in every kitchenette. Of course, there is also a safe so that you can lock up your valuables, as well as a telephone with direct dialling.

You can set your room temperature individually using a temperature control on the wall and you will also find a light regulator on the wall that can dim your ceiling light for a particularly cozy atmosphere. Another highlight awaits you in the shower - the super modern rain shower from HansGrohe with various shower modes. Want to do your bit for sustainability in the shower too? Then set the water regulator on the side to Eco mode.

All our apartments are non-smoking apartments. A violation will be charged with € 250,-. If you have an apartment with access to the terrace, you may of course have a cigarette outside - but only outside.

You need an extra cleaning? No problem! You are welcome to order an additional cleaning from Mon to Sat for an extra charge when you make your reservation at reservation.kassel@hood-house.de. Please note that your request will be processed by our partner hotel "Renthof Kassel" at the weekend.

I get it, we are all digital natives and nothing works without wifi. That's why we have super-fast internet throughout the hotel that reaches every last corner. Free of charge, of course.
But you should also put down your smartphone from time to time and enjoy the neighborhood (Hood) and Kassel a bit.

In all apartments you will find a fully equipped kitchenette with crockery, dishwasher, two induction hobs, extractor fan, microwave, fridge & freezer compartment. So you have everything you need to start a proper cooking evening. You will find shops for your groceries in the immediate vicinity.
