What is the difference between a short and a long stay?

Short stay:
1-9 nights
Room cleaned once a week
Flexible cancellation after arrival

Long stay:
10 nights or more
Rooms cleaned once per wek
Further cleaning possible upon request – €25 per clean
Less flexible cancellation after arrival due to the length of the stay

Do all rooms have a kitchen?

All Hoods have a small kitchen corner with at least a microwave. From the Comfyhood category upwards, all rooms also feature a 2-zone induction hob and sink in the kitchen area. If you require
a dishwasher, we recommend a Classyhood. Dishwashers are also only available in the Comfyhood+ in the case of a non-binding request – thank you for your understanding!

How often are bedding and towels changed?

All our Hoods are provided with bedding, towels and all other necessary textiles needed for day to day sleeping, living and cooking. We want to do our part to protect the environment and have therefore adjusted our cleaning and linen change rhythm.

During your time with us you receive a full cleaning on the eight day of your stay - an apartment cleaning & linen change included.

You like it spick-and-span more often? For € 25 you can book an additional service with a day's notice at the reception.

Does the Hood House has an air-conditioning system in place?

We want to do our part to protect the environment and have therefore no air-conditioning system in place.

Is wifi free?

We understand that everyone today requires wifi and without it nothing is possible! Superfast wifi is therefore available throughout the entire hotel including the furthest corners! Free of charge, of course.
We do, however, also recommend that you put down your smartphone now and again to take in and enjoy the neighbourhood and Hamburg. We have put together a few ideas for things to do in our events calendar: www.hood-house.de/Veranstalungskalender

Can I bring my dog with me?

Yes, of course, although only if he is well-behaved! We have 5 special dog rooms on the ground floor for guests with animal companions. These are very practical as they also offer direct access without having to go through the lobby or lift. Please keep dogs on leads in the public areas and around the hotel and clean up after them as there is otherwise a fine of €20 for this in Hamburg.

Also, dog owners are responsible for any damage caused in the hotel or disturbance of the peace although we are sure that this does not apply to you and your four-legged friends! The categories for the doggy rooms vary between Comfyhood+ and Classyhood. The charge for dogs is €20 per day (for short stays) and 10€ per day for long stays. Where can babies sleep?

You don’t want to leave your children with Grandma for the weekend and would like them to travel with you? No problem! Cots are available free of charge. Please note that there is only room for cots in the Comfyhood category upwards. If your child is too big for a cot, children up to and including the age of 2 years can stay free of charge if they sleep in the parents’ bed. Are your kids older and need their own bed? Our Spacehood offers a super comfy 1.80 m sofa bed with room for 2 kids. Charge for kids 3 - 11 years : €20/night; for older kids we charge €40/night.

Are additional beds available?

Are there three of you in your group and one of you doesn’t want to be on their own in a room? Then you can also book a room for three – for example the Spacehood provides a super comfy 1.80 m sofa bed which offers room for up to 2 further people. Charge for adults: €40 / night extra.

Is smoking permitted?

No! Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the hotel. If you unable to keep to this small but very important rule we will, unfortunately, have to charge you a €150 cleaning charge.

Smoker’s tip: book the Primehood and smoking is permitted on your own, private rooftop terrace.

Where can I store my valuables when I stay at your hotel?

There is a safe in all rooms. If you have an item which doesn’t fit in the safe, please contact our helpful reception team. We also have large lockers with room for almost anything.

Where can I get something to eat?

If you would like really good, healthy cuisine, owner Ravneet Kaur Muhar will impress you with her authentic Indian street food in our in-house “Svaadish” restaurant with a modern urban atmosphere. Ravneet wanted to bring her childhood memories of the streetfood of India’s bustling side streets to life and serves typical Indian dishes. SVAAdish is Hindi and means “delicious” and this is what everything is about in this restaurant: mouth-watering Indian specialities which unite tradition and innovations. The menu features Indian classics such as curry and biryani as well as many further street food highlights from India’s various regions. In the lounge area, guests can peruse the cocktail card and sample many Indian inspired creations! Guten Appetit!

Is it possible to eat in the rooms?

If you aren’t feeling particularly sociable or have so much work that you don’t have time for a big meal or forgot to buy the things needed for breakfast … we got you! Our marketplace offers everything you need for a snack, coffee and drinks as well as even a full dinner – something delicious and fast!

Have you forgotten your toothbrush?

Or are you looking for a souvenir from Hamburg? Or perhaps feeling a little bored and want something creative? Take a look through our Marketplace which sells everything you need – toothpaste, soup, marmalade, deodorant, alcohol, gummy bears and chocolate. Well worth a visit!

Do you need to wash your laundry?

Our laundry room has WeWash washing machines and dryers. Each wash costs €3 and the dryer costs €2.50. Please note that machines are only payable by app on your smartphone. The app also shows whether a machine/dryer is available and when your cycle has finished. Iron and ironing board also available.

Is there somewhere lockable where I can store my suitcase?

Is there somewhere lockable where I can store my suitcase? You only need half your things in your room or need somewhere to store your luggage for a couple of hours after checking out? Our luggage room in the cellar offers lockers for you to store your things.

Parking

If you want to leave your car here while you explore Hamburg on foot or by public transport, we offer 27 parking spaces in the nearby underground garage in the Dorotheenstraße. There are also 10 spaces directly by the building. Charges for parking in our underground garage are: €20/night and €295/month. Charges for parking directly by the building are: €32/night and €460/month. We are, unfortunately, unable to reserve parking spaces in advance – thank you for your understanding! If no spaces are available, our helpful reception team will be able to offer alternatives.

If you would like a parking space, please drive onto our hotel entrance and we can explain where to park.

You are unable to visit us after all? That’s a shame but don’t worry!

You can cancel our normal daily rates free of charge – up to 3 pm on the day before you are due to arrive. Cancellations made later or non-arrival will be charged at 90% of the booking price for the first night. Cancellations must be made in writing (e-mail).

Please note that special cancellation terms may apply at busy times / special events (exhibitions, events in Hamburg etc). We will inform you of any special terms in advance.
Groups of more than 9 people are also subject to other cancellation terms. Further cancellation terms which may apply for your stay.

When do I pay for my stay?

Payment is to be made upon arrival at the latest. For further information see your booking confirmation.

Does the room rate include all taxes and charges?

Or will I have to pay extras when I arrive?

All charges include VAT and in addition to that the culture and tourism tax (KTT) applies. The Culture and Tourism Tax also applies to business travellers in Hamburg from 1st January 2023.

I don’t have a credit card – what should I do?

If you do not own a credit card you can reserve by telephone (does not apply to all room categories, rates or dates and only if you live in Germany). You can also pay by instant transfer.

When is check-out?

At Hood House you can enjoy a lie-in, check-out is until 11 am. Check-in from 3.00 pm

If you would like to check out later, simply contact our team – this is usually not a problem depending on availability and for a small extra charge.
